Baptism from this weekend

April 21, 2014 (Second to Last Post!)

Family :) whats going on out there? how are you gus?

Hey I wnated to start off apalagizing for last week. We had a meeting with President at 12 in the mornign so i thoguht we were gonig to have time after to write, long story short though we had alot to do and we didnt have time to go to cyber, sorry family :) I hope all is well though and that you guys are going great.

The extension has been incredible, honestly one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life :) we are travling zone leaders asigned to the zone of caseros. This zone has always been know for how hard it is and for having alot of dificulties... That was the past though, these 2 weeks have been sacred. We have been working so harrd and focused and we have seriosuly been all over the place, going form area to area, meeting to exchange and everything in between. Its been an amzing time though and the zone is absoluly been exploding, a zone that is known for baptising less than 10 a momnth is going to have more than 20 this weekend! Vamos CAseros ! Its been incredle though, seriously the time of my life out here and we have seen so many miracles its incredible. I cant wait to tell you all the stories ! not yet though, we have 2 weeks left and were going all out, dead sprit to the finsh line of the best 2 years ( 1 corinthians 9 )

I still dont have much time to write today but i hope this picture makes you guys happy and lets you know a little more about whats going down out here in our extension :) Complte family! :))) KNow that I love you guys and know that your in my thoguhts and prayers. Know im working hard out here and staying focused, more foicused than ever out here. I love bibg a misiosnary and I love helping people ! This is the work of the Lord and I know that there is nothing more important that i could ever be doing right now in my life ! i know the church is tue and I know that change and progres are real, we all have the same opportunity to change our lives and truly be happy. We have to be wililng to do what it takes thoug. I know the atonment is real and I know it can change poeple, if we just let it :) hope your ready thoguh to get to know the new elder hawkey. Hes a new man and nothing like the last time you saw him :) Hes changed for the better though and hes excited to see you guys.... in 2 weeks :)

Family :) how you are guys? How are things out in the states... Hope all is well and that you holding in there ( and still reading my emails I send you guys :) )
This week was super Great. We saw a lot of miracles out here in the area and zone and we were super blessed to be able to see conference out here. I’ll start off by telling a story that happened here on Sunday... SO we get to watch the sessions live and the first session starts at 1 in the afternoon Argentina time, We are out in the streets early all planes worked out to eat lunch with this amazing Bolvisn family and then right after we were all going to go to conference. So were eating and everything is looking good, we take a taxi over to the church and on our way we just keep talking it up, how great it was going to be, the prophet everything ( all these people aren’t members). We get to the church though and walk in there to see that there is no electricity. It rained a ton this weekend and apparently all of the center had no light, We’re in there waiting talking for a while, the ward and all the investigators and the time starts to tick by, were all waiting, we knew that conference was going to somehow be seen in the branch, give this about 40 minutes and the people , honorable ward members start losing their faith and hope, and ever more than that start complaining and even start leaving. The branch President even was kind of mad.... Me and my companion go to the bathroom and immediately say a prayer, asking for this miracle... We go back and as were going back to the sacrament meeting room I had an idea, We start exciting the people and telling them were going to have a  few talks a hymn and a prayer by the missionaries. This was completely improvised, so we kind of calm the people down and my companions sets a little minute up in his agenda and we start the meeting, we had a prayer and hymn and then we go into the talks that in no way were previously prepared.... one talk form my companion turns into another improvised by a member and the spirit at this point is really strong in the room.  The meeting was about another 25 minutes... during the last talk though is when it happened, the light went back on :)) we were all amazed and then we were able to watch the conference in peace as well as for the second session as well..... There are a few things that really grew my testimony here that I want to share with you, The Lord will not do any miracle for us until after we do all that we can do. I’ve learned that so much out here in the mission and even more yesterday. Next is that there is a special power in a good attitude and animating the people to remember the Lord, we saw that , every was complaining and leaving, even some of the investigators, me and my companion, with our small efforts were able to make the difference and help many others hear the words of the Prophet and the apostles.  If we would have just let it go, everyone would have left and no one would have been able to feel that changing experience to se conference. It was great, and even better we were all a s a branch able to recognize the miracle the Lord had done for us and were all so grateful at what we had done together as a branch :)..... Conference was great through and I just wanted to share that little experience with you guys.
IM doing good though, staying focused and working hard as ever out here, we were super blessed to bring a bunch of people to conference and  things are looking good for the zone and area for this month as well.... It looks like this is going to be my last p day out there, We have transfer meeting Wednesday and it looked like me and elder Kalmar ( me and my buddy form my group that are extending) are going to get special assignments throughout the mission, as to what that is, i have no idea ha ha I’ll let you know though next week for sure :) its going to be a good week though, we have the transfer meeting and then the mission tour!! oh ya :) we get to go all over capital , it’s going to be great :) .... But I’m excited more than anything for my 3 extra weeks I’ll have to work, I’ll be focused and I know there’s something else that I have to do out here before I leave :)
I miss and Love you guys and can’t wait to see you... not yet though :) May first will come up quick though so no worries :)
Know that I know this work really is the work of the Lord. I know that miracles are real and I know that our father in heaven knows us each individually. I know that all he wants is the best for us and for that reason he gives us opportunities to attain just that "the best" every day. We have to recognize them though and do what it takes to complete with the Lord and allow him to bless and help us. The mission is the best thing ever and the best decision I have ever made. I know the atonement is real and I know that anyone can change and better their lives :)
I hope you guys have an awesome week. Know I love you and know you’re in my thoughts and prayers :)

He goves us opportuiniotes to obtain that desire he has ( the best life possible) every day we have the opportunity to be ahppy and cmplet the things we all know that bring tre happiness, its in us though to choose those things and ALLOW him to give us these blessings. Hola familia! Que tal? Como andan?
Things out here are going great, betetr than ever, literally. We had a huge week last week as a companionship and as a zone. We worked super hard and we were super blessed with a baptismal servise and on top of that the Lord blessed us and helped us set a new record, bringing 15 investigators to sacrement meeting. It was a great Sunday and we packed em in there, ha ha its funny because our building is super small, literally about half the soze of the welton branch and we had like 120 ppeople in a little salon in Sacrement meeitng.. The best feeling ever! to be sitting there woth a huge group of ourt investigators and then looking up to see recent converts on all sides and helping in the servise.... words cannot be siad to how i flet yesterday anbd how I continue to feel about the Sacred work here in Chivilcoy. I cant wait for you guys to meet ll these peoeple and and see the branch out here, its absoluly insane.
Were moee focused than ever and thats the truth... Its MArch madness out here in the best mission in the world and we have 2 weekdns left. We expext to see about 30 more baptisms in the zone and about 10 more in our companionship. There is no beter time in the misosn than now and we are all feeling it.... We had a zone confrense this last Friday with us and Chivilcoy South, President and the assistants came out and we really feel this vibe throuhgout the whole mission... Its hard to explain but our misoin publishes the results form each week to every misosinary each week. We are literally seeing our hard work pay off and history in the making out here in Buenos Aires. President keeps us animated and were all lokking forward to a huge last 2 weeks of MArch Madness!!! VAmos Todavia!!!
All this beeing said, behind all the numbers are the poeple, and thats what were about in this misison and thats what Elder HAwkey, Elder Valdes , and Chivilcoy Norte is about! Helping them, our brothers and sister come to the knowledge of the truth and come to sing the sweet song of Joy that can only come thoguh the atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ. Thats what I live for, to be part of this great and sacred work and to literaly invite ALL others to come unto Christ. I love being a misisonary and I am enjoying every minute of it out here!
KNow your in my thoguhts and prayers, keep eberyone in your as well. Theres alot of work to still be done but I can asure you that well get it done out here, as to our own strength were weak, but we know that in Chivilcoy and Buenos Aires, all things are possible with The help of the Lord.
I invite you all to think about these things and take the next step in your lives to come unto Christ and to help in his great work. There are opportunities every day to do something to help in the misosnary work. Pray for the spiritual eyues to recognoze it and I promise you will see a literal change for the best in the lives of others and yourselves. RLook for the opportunities and then dont hold back, Just do it !
CAnt wait to share msison stories and picturees with you guys ;)..... not yet thoguh :)

Additional Story from Chivilcoy

so funny story this week, its goty alot of details but i dont have much time so ill make it sort ... So we go to this familes house sunday morning and eevbrythings good, their ready for church and super excited, we call a taxi and we help the mom get her kids in and everything and then we go off to lok for another family in the bikes, planning to meeet up with this family at church. We get there and their no where to be found, we call the taxi place and they said the dropped them off at teh church and that it anst their problem. Its an amazing fmaily and i knew it had to be some sort of mistake and to be hoinest i was super worried about them because it was their first sunday at church as well.... a thoguht came to mind and then i realized it.... maybe the taxi driver droped them off at the evangelist chyurch half a block up form our church by accident.... so we walk over there and a gorl comes out kinda confused, we ask her to check if there is a bolvian lady in there with 3 little girls.... we wait a while and she comes out teling us their inside ha ha we dont know what top do, so we tyr to walk in and a women pastor tells us and gets mad at us.... the pastor is in their on stage saying like whatever and yelling at the congregation so this lay takes us back outside so we can talk... she tries to pull it on us and make us feel bad " my husband is in there giving a semen about jesus christ and how he is here to help us in our daily strugles, hte sister is very intrested in listening, if you want ill call her but we realy dont want to bother her"... she was geting a little fisty with us... we wweree strong thoguh and we told her to call the family.... we wait another little while and out comes the family, super confused but super happy to see us. She was teling us how it scraared her daughters an how she hgad no idea what was going on.... we walked together to the real true church and started off sacreement meeting with an amazing sprit...... she loved it. flet and recognized the spirit and wants to get baptised!!! :))) ha ha super funny, ironic story but wanted to share with you guys :)

Its very rare to see a companionship in our mission to be together more than 2 transfers as well so we were really excited to see that happene for us to stay otgetehr working till the bittere end out here in Chivilcoy... Were excited and animo a full! :) .... One day you guys will get to know this guy and youll see exactly what im talking about, hes the best and i cant wait to present him to you guys one day :)

We hvae been working in a small Bolivian neighborhood and hope to baptise 3 fmailes we have beenw working with over there. 2 familes arnt married yet but things are gettig planned up to have anopther 2-3 weddings out here the last weekeend in MArch and to help these familes complete these comandments and have the opportunity to get baptized :) like i said, were excited :)
We have been working good with another few investigators and this kid Gabby we have bene working with is going to be baptised this wekend. ALso Tamamra, a single mom of the 5 cutest kids ever that has been progressiugna ton and will be abptised the 16 with her sister and hopefully their mom as well :) alot to do in as little time but were doing all wqe can to stay organized, focused and ready to see these mieracles come to pass this month... I personally am diong good thoguh, loving the misison and enjoying every minute of it.... Like i said ill be sending out a letter to you guys , but i realy want you guys to know how much I personaly have changed and simpley opened my eyes to the real purpose of this life. The misison has chnaged me and helped me learn so incredibly much and for that i will be eternally thnakful. The mission is the best decision i hvae ever made and i really hope you guys can fel that because it really comes form my heart and soul. I know the church is true, i know the Lord knows a¡each and every one of us individually and i know that all he wants is ofr us to be happy. I know this is the work of the Lord and I know there is nothing more important than this, sharing these blessig with others :) I love being a missionary and i know that this few short years is only the start of serving my heavenly father in his church. I know he lives and i know miracles are real :)

Family :)
Its been a little while since iv writen a fmaily letter so I hope this goes well and i hope you gus are still reaidng these things ha ha. Alot has happened since we last talked and even more this last weekend. All good things that i cant wait to tell you guys all about. Im goining to keep it kinda short today but know you all have letters coming out your way in the mail and that you will hear all about everything one day .
So it starts today, my last real /full transfer as a missionrry. With the extensiion I hvae 10 weeks left out here and ill be coming home may 2. Thus beiung said, please keep the coments to yourself and continue to support and help me stay focused ( and not trunky) to the very last day. Is that cool family? Seriously thank you guys, it will help me out a ton and this is seruiously going to be an amazing time out here :)
So my last transfer im staying togetehr with Elder VAldes and were still workiong out here in chivilcoy, we have been working so hard out here and its been incredible the mirackles that we have been so blessed to see. We finshed off feburary strong this last weekend with 4 baptism and 2 weddings! ha ha we got to be the witneses and everything, ha ha such a crazy/ great experiense! We had an amazing month though on a companionship, and zone level, not to mention the branch. The zone finished off super well and we were super bleseed to help many come unto Christ and to set the example for the mssion finishing off in the number one spot. There such a sense of work and excitment throuhout the zone and we have all been seeing so many miracles, its been incredible... The branch, wow. what just 5 months ago was a small group of the most dedicated 25 members in chivivlcoy we have all beenw orking super hard and seeing so much growth. This past sunday we werer able to have a recored high 114 in sacrement meeting! Such a miracle and such a blessing. Its the best time more than evber to be out here in chivilcoy and werer taking advantage of evry single minute of it.
So thats prety much whats going on in my life right now and I cant wait to tell you guys even more about all thats happening and all thats happened out here. IM staying focussed out here and i can say with all my heart im working harder than i ever have before. I feel good and am doign everything in my power to help our father in heaven in this sacred work in the  salvation of his children. I love ebing a missionary and i Will be giving it everything i have until the bittere end of this sacred mission. I know trhe church is true. I know this is the mnost important thing that we could ever be diong in our lives. I know that God knows and loves each one of his chilcdren individually and that all  he wants is the best for each and every one of us. I know miracles are real, andf i want you to know that that comes directly from my heart, true  life miracles are real! I know that but iv learned that espesially as misisonaries is only given an opportunitiy to see a miracle form the Lord to happen., and if it actually happens, if the blessings are actually given to the people is only thgouh the faith, diligense and hard work we put into making sure it happens. We are in every sense servants of the Lord doing, doing thw woirk of the Lord so that he CAn do the miracle for his children. I love being a misoisnary and i hope you guys know that. I Love guys and pray for you evbery day, know thoguh that all is well thoguh and that im living it up out here in the best 2 years of my entire life!

With love, hard work, weddings, and of corse, many baptisms form the best msison in the world!

Sunday's Baptism

January 13, 2014

Hawkey family and friends:
You are here by corduaslly invited to the wedding and baptismal sevices of two of our incredible familis of invesigators we have been working with. Both are living together but as the continue to learn and aply the teachings of our SAvior booth have made the decision to get married and bapotised. The services wedding wil be help in the registro civil here in chvilcoy Feburary 21 2014 folowed by the reseption andbaptismal service :) your all invited if you ahve some time to swing by, its oging to huge :) as well the kids of both familes will be setting the example for their aprents and enetering the waters of baotism the 26th of january. There the four oldest kids and then with the parents and some preperation will be bapotised 2 other of the children with some spesial needss. :) ................ man I love being a missionary
Were absolutly loving it out here and working harder than ever, focused and absolutly a full. Me and Elder VAldes have been working super well together and seriosuly we have been seeiong so many blessings and miracles out here in chivilcoy. As we continue to work i find my testimony of the Lord and his power and willingness to do miralcfes for us grow each and every day, As revelealed in D &C 82 10 when the Lord said, Yo el senor estoy OBLIGADO cuando haceis lo que os digo, mas cuando no haceis lo que os digo, ninguna promese teneis.... If you can understand that ( Bien Aye ;) ) if not lok it up.... Its talking about thoguh how the lord is literally obligated to give us blessigs when we complete with him. And its so true, iv seen it so amny time sout here in myself and with our investigators. He will do real life miracles, BUT we ahve to be williing to do what it takes. Ans that is the great trial of life, to really see if we are willing to do jsut that, humbly obey. I can tell you form personal experiense that its worth it :)
I Love being a misisonary and there is no greater time then now out here in the best msison in the world ;) Miaralcesa are real and they are happening daily, this is the work of the Lord, we really are his representatives, familes can be together forever and more than anything I know that This is the one and only true church on the earth and the only way to obtain the oeace and happiness that we all need and look for.
Ill finish with a short story, just yesterday we finsh p church and start to help our inverstigatos get home. As were finishing things up and waiting to talk with our branch President, I feel impressed to talk to a sister and ask her if she needs anyhting and posibly if we could come over top her ouse for lunch ( you know how we misisonaries are) She accepts and about half hour later we meet at here house, an aamaizing lunch and as we get to taslkig we realized thast everything happens for a reason. We got to talking about how she really needed help right now and that she missed so bad her son that was serving a mission and that more than anything she jsut prayed that she could find a way to help her son. We talked about how as she has given to one of us, she has supported all of us and more importantly served the Lord in his great work. It was a very spiritual experioense athat really helped me to see how the Lord really does answer prayers , allways..... look for his help , pray and ask for his guidanse and support and he will always give it, support the missionary efforts in your areas and i can humbly tell you it means the world to a sevrant of the  Lord with so much to handle. I Love you guys and hope you can feel it as you read this email
